-The story of Barbour began in 1894 in the Market Place in South Shields. Today, the company remains family-owned and headquartered in Simonside, South Shields. While we source our products from around the globe, some of Barbour's classic waxed jackets are still manufactured and repaired by hand in the Simonside factory.
Barbour now has stores in over 55 countries worldwide, including the UK, US, Germany, Holland, Austria, France, Italy, Spain, Argentina, New Zealand, and Japan. The collections include clothing for men, women, children, and now even dogs! Beyond Barbour's original focus on country wear, we now produce clothing for a complete lifestyle wardrobe. In addition to jackets and coats, the Barbour wardrobe also includes shirts, dresses, knitwear, shoes, accessories, and much more.
