Vans
-THE "OG" SKATER SHOE
in 1966, brothers Paul Van Doren and James Van Doren, together with Gordon Lee and Serge D’Elia, opened the first Vans store and the iconic shoe “Vans # 44 deck”, now known as Vans Authentic, was born. Up through the 70s, Vans captured the sturdy construction and sticky sole in Southern California, and super skate stars Tony Alva and Stacy Peralta designed Vans # 95, now known as Vans Era. The perfect foundation was now laid to produce the perfect skate shoe, and in 1977 Vans # 36, Old Skool – with the now famous Vans Sidestripe – saw the light of day. Vans Sidestripe started out as a random doodle by Paul Van Doren, but today he has become the unmistakable feature of Vans shoes and sneakers. Then came Vans # 38 (Sk8-Hi), Vans Slip-Ons, and a large number of iconic skate shoes and every day sneakers. This means that Vans today has a strong line-up of robust, functional, stylish, and comfortable footwear.
